Following a viral video showing Nollywood actress Regina Daniels in tears, her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has publicly denied allegations of domestic violence, instead accusing the actress of drug and alcohol abuse.
In the emotional clip shared online, Daniels, surrounded by friends, tearfully lamented alleged mistreatment in her marriage, saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. Not again, I cannot stand the violence; it is too much.” The video sparked widespread public concern, prompting an immediate response from Nwoko on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
In a post titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage and Rampage in My House and in My Absence,” the Delta North senator dismissed claims of abuse and instead alleged that Daniels’ substance use had become the root of their marital problems. He described a pattern of destructive behaviour, claiming that within 48 hours, she had slapped and hit three staff members, broken windows, and damaged vehicles.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drug and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” Nwoko wrote.
The lawmaker further alleged that Daniels had relocated to a place where she could access drugs freely, defying his efforts to help her continue rehabilitation in Asokoro, Abuja, or abroad—preferably in Jordan. He also accused two individuals, identified as “Sammy” and “Ann,” of enabling her addiction, calling them negative influences.
Nwoko cited a recent incident involving their son, Moon, alleging that Daniels threatened a resident nurse who had exposed her drug use. According to him, while he took their child to the hospital, chaos erupted at home under the influence of Daniels’ close associates.
The senator stressed that he had never been violent toward any of his wives, maintaining that his priority was Regina’s well-being, not his reputation. “I fear for her well-being if she does not continue her rehabilitation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the post has triggered mixed reactions online, with many social media users questioning what might have gone wrong in their once-celebrated union. As of now, Regina Daniels has not issued any public response to her husband’s allegations.
