  • INEC staff have decided to prioritise the elderly, people with disabilities and pregnant/nursing women as voters line up for hours to cast their vote. This has disgruntled many young voters who earnestly arrived early in the morning and have been unattended for hours. Young voters have voiced their frustration and believe it is an attempt to disenfranchise their votes (youth voters for the first time are the largest voting bloc).
    • We have just been made to wait endlessly on the queue without being attended to. They are only attending to elders as if they are the only ones they want to vote and not the youth”
  • Voters in Kaduna call for an extension in voting time due to the late arrival of election materials.
  • Some contracted drivers in Enugu refuse to deploy election materials, claiming they have not been paid. They are demanding upfront cash payments. A driver, Ugwu says “Once you leave here without your money at hand, consider the money as a forgotten issue”. An anonymous INEC official has said that they paid them via transfer, but there is no cash on hand, leaving some drivers to believe they had been transferred the money and performed their contracted duties, while others have remained in protest.
  • Hoodlums invade and destroy polling station in Ikate, Lagos
  • Suspected thugs have snatched a ballot box in Edo State, Oredo Ward 4 unit 42. They came armed and the INEC officials took cover with some of their security in a nearby house. Police arrived and arrested two people in the house. Governor Obaseki said the matter was being investigated. The security presence in the Benin axis is very intense, to control the situation.
  • Peter Obi, has just won one of the polling units near Tinubu’s APC. Polling unit 052, Alausa, Ikeja.
