Nigerian media personality, Nedu Wazobia, has addressed the controversies surrounding his departure from The Honest Bunch podcast, firmly debunking reports that he was fired. Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, Nedu clarified that his exit was a personal decision, not a forced removal.

“Let me straighten something out—I was not fired from The Honest Bunch. I was never fired,” he stated. “I decided to step away when the attacks became very personal so that the show could go on.”

Nedu emphasized that the podcast serves as a platform for open discussions, where guests freely express their opinions. “Every opinion shared on this platform is the opinion of the guest, not of the show itself. Everyone has the right to an opinion and the right to report,” he added.

The controversy surrounding Nedu intensified after a podcast episode featuring reality star and comedian DeeOne. During the episode, DeeOne alleged that social media critic, VeryDarkMan (VDM), had intimate relationships with men. In response, VDM accused Nedu of orchestrating the allegations and leaking private conversations between them. He further alleged that Nedu had requested sexual favors from women in exchange for movie roles and threatened to reveal names of celebrities who had allegedly been involved with him.

Despite the mounting accusations, Nedu maintained his stance against engaging in social media feuds. “A lot of things have been going on left, right, and center, but I am going to say this: I am not one to indulge in petty exchanges of words. That’s not who I am, and it has never been my style,” he said.

In light of these developments, Nedu’s management team strongly condemned the accusations, labeling them as baseless attacks on his character. “The accusations against Nedu are no longer just petty issues; they have crossed a line. We will not tolerate any further attacks on his character. Lawyers will be taking action, and necessary processes will be undertaken to address these false accusations,” they stated.

Amid the controversy, Nedu also made a surprising announcement about distancing himself from the public. Expressing his frustration, he said, “To be honest, I’m done being nice. My niceness has been taken for granted, and I’ve been abused by people who claim to be my friends. I’m tired of being used and taken advantage of.”

He then urged people to delete his contact, stating that he no longer wished to be accessible. “I need to take care of myself and prioritize my well-being. The nice part of Nedu is dead and buried. I’m no longer going to be a nice guy,” he concluded.

With legal action now in motion, it remains to be seen how the controversy will unfold. However, Nedu has made it clear—he is stepping away from The Honest Bunch and public life to focus on himself.
