Afrobeats star Davido has expressed frustration over a misleading headline that falsely linked him to kidnappers. A blog on X shared a video of three suspected kidnappers apprehended in Lagos with the caption, “Davido and two others apprehended for kidnapping in Lagos.” The headline referenced the gang leader’s nickname but left many fans confused, making it seem like the singer was involved.
Unhappy with the misinformation, Davido warned that those spreading false headlines would eventually face the consequences. Reposting the news, he wrote, “One day go be one day… Continue. My karma no dey always tey.”
Despite this controversy, Davido continues to achieve global success. His collaboration with Chris Brown, Hmmm, recently won Outstanding International Song at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards.
