Preparations are currently in full swing for the upcoming wedding ceremonies of nine children of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle. Over the weekend, an invitation card for the event surfaced online and quickly circulated across social media platforms.
The card, which features a photograph of the minister, indicates that the weddings will take place on February 6 at the Abuja Central Mosque. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. The children set to be wedded include Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muhammad, Nana Firdausi and Farida.
When contacted on Saturday, the spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, confirmed the development. He stated that the minister has five sons and four daughters participating in the joint ceremony.
Idris added that he is a member of the organising committee and noted that preparations have reached an advanced stage to ensure a successful event in the capital. According to him, everything is being put in place for a smooth celebration next month, by God’s grace.
