The Lagos State Government has demolished the car showroom belonging to popular influencer and auto dealer, Ola of Lagos, whose real name is Waris Olayinka Akinwande.

The incident was first revealed in a viral TikTok video posted by fellow car dealer Ibilo, showing the demolished structure with the caption, “Lagos State Government Demolishes OOL Autos. Heavy one today.” While the reason for the demolition has not been officially confirmed, many social media users speculated that the building was erected beneath a high-tension power line, violating safety and urban planning regulations.

The demolition occurred amid a broader operation by the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, which recently cleared several illegal structures built on the Ikota River Right of Way in Lekki. The Commissioner for the Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, said the move aimed to protect waterways and prevent flooding, adding that those behind illegal reclamation activities would be prosecuted.

Reacting to the incident, Ola confirmed the demolition via his Instagram story, maintaining a positive attitude despite the loss. He assured followers that his business remains active and announced plans to unveil a new, larger showroom named OOL Autos.

“OOL Autos new showroom coming soon… bigger and better, insha Allah. We’re still active,” he wrote, thanking fans for their support and expressing gratitude for the encouragement received during the setback.
