Transcorp Hotels Plc, the hospitality arm of Transnational Corporation Plc, has posted an exceptional financial performance for the 2025 financial year, recording its highest revenue ever at ₦97.04 billion. This represents a strong 38 per cent growth compared to the ₦70.13 billion generated in the previous year, according to the company’s audited financial statements submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

The impressive revenue growth reflects rising patronage across the company’s core offerings, including room occupancy, conferences and events, food and beverage services, as well as other complementary hospitality services. This strong demand, combined with disciplined cost control and improved operational efficiency, helped Transcorp Hotels increase its gross profit margin to 77 per cent, up from 71 per cent in the 2024 financial year.

Profitability also improved significantly. Operating profit climbed to ₦35.24 billion, marking a 35 per cent increase from ₦26.03 billion recorded in the prior year. Profit before tax rose even more sharply, growing by 45 per cent to ₦32.82 billion from ₦22.61 billion. After-tax profit followed the same upward trend, reaching ₦21.85 billion, a 47 per cent year-on-year increase compared to ₦14.90 billion in 2024.

Commenting on the results, the Chair of the Board, Dr Awele Elumelu, expressed satisfaction with the company’s performance, noting that the strong showing reflects deliberate efforts to build a solid and sustainable business. She highlighted that both the company’s asset base and equity expanded during the year, rising by 14 per cent and 18 per cent respectively, positioning the business for continued growth. According to her, Transcorp Hotels remains focused on operational excellence while exploring new opportunities that can deliver long-term value to shareholders.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Uzoamaka Oshogwe, described the 2025 results as a defining achievement for the company. She noted that retained earnings rose substantially from ₦63.23 billion in 2024 to ₦77.53 billion, strengthening the company’s financial stability and capacity for future expansion. Oshogwe attributed the performance to efficient operations, prudent cost management and the dedication of the company’s workforce to delivering superior service.

Looking ahead, she reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strategic investments, particularly in landmark projects such as the 5,000-seat Transcorp Centre. The facility is expected to boost Nigeria’s appeal as a leading destination for major international gatherings, including high-level regional and continental events. As of the end of 2025, Transcorp Hotels’ total assets stood at ₦159.91 billion, while total equity rose to ₦95.23 billion, underscoring its strong growth trajectory.
