Popular TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, widely known as Peller, has announced that two individuals have been selected from a recent recruitment exercise for the position of cameraman. According to him, each of the successful candidates will receive a monthly salary of ₦500,000.
The recruitment process, which took place earlier in the week, sparked widespread attention after a female applicant, Nkese Eyo, took to social media to voice her disappointment. She claimed the interview felt more like a content shoot than a genuine opportunity for employment.
Peller had previously advertised the role on his social media platforms, promising a lucrative salary and drawing numerous applicants, including those with advanced degrees. However, Nkese’s public criticism triggered backlash online, with many accusing Peller of using the hopes of unemployed youths to create viral content.
In response to the controversy, Peller shared a video on Instagram where he clarified the situation. He revealed that two people were selected from the 20 applicants who showed up and would be paid ₦500,000 upfront before officially beginning work.

Speaking further, he addressed Nkese’s allegations directly, explaining that the session was streamed live for transparency. He claimed his words were taken out of context, particularly a comment she highlighted about not knowing her tribe, which he said was made in jest.
Nkese, a content creator and singer, had posted on X (formerly Twitter), expressing her disappointment. She said she had hoped to gain a real opportunity for career growth but instead felt exploited for online engagement. She also alleged that Peller made inappropriate remarks about her tribe and appearance.
In his defense, Peller stated that participation was voluntary and that the nature of the process had been made clear beforehand. “Did I force anyone to come? I didn’t compel anyone with a Master’s degree,” he said.
