Nollywood actor and producer Femi Adebayo has opened up about the defining moment he chose acting over a career in law. In a recent interview with Pulse, Adebayo revealed that although he earned a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Ibadan and worked briefly as a lawyer, acting was always a hobby he enjoyed on the side. At the time, his monthly salary as a practicing lawyer was just N20,000.
The turning point came when he was offered N50,000 for a three-day acting job. That unexpected offer made him reflect deeply on his path. “Honestly speaking, that was when I started working as a lawyer,” he said. “My salary then was just N20,000 monthly, and acting was just a hobby. But when I got an acting role that paid N50,000 for three days, I said, ‘Femi, this acting is your calling.’” It was a defining realization that led him to abandon the law profession and fully embrace the entertainment industry.

His decision was also influenced by his background in the film world. As the son of veteran actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Femi Adebayo drew inspiration from his father’s legacy. Today, he is a leading figure in Nollywood.
