Nollywood star Lateef Adedimeji has advised young creatives to focus on developing their skills and understanding themselves rather than chasing popularity.

Speaking at the Creative Youth Experience in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the Lisabi actor told the audience that fame is temporary and should never be the goal.“

Fame is fake; it’s borrowed and can disappear anytime,” he said. “Many people run after recognition without first building their craft. When the attention fades, what will be left of you? At the end of the day, when you’re alone, who are you really?”

During a panel session titled Framing the Future, Adedimeji explained that lasting success comes from inner growth and a clear sense of purpose.

“Fame doesn’t make you who you are—your identity does. Your values and self-awareness are real; fame is only temporary,” he added, urging young talents to anchor their journeys on personal development and authenticity rather than external validation.
