Bharti Airtel has reached a significant global milestone, surpassing 650 million mobile subscribers and becoming the world’s second-largest telecom operator by customer base. This achievement highlights Airtel’s ability to serve diverse markets with reliable service while continuously innovating to enhance customer experience.

In Nigeria, the company has aggressively expanded its network infrastructure, growing from just over 13,000 sites three years ago to nearly 17,200 today, adding more than 1,560 sites in the past year alone. This expansion strengthens capacity in high-traffic areas and brings high-speed connectivity to previously underserved regions.

Airtel is also progressing with plans for a second submarine cable internet breakout point at Kwa Ibo in Akwa Ibom State as part of the 2Africa cable system rollout. This initiative aims to deliver faster, more resilient national connectivity and reflects global best practices in network redundancy. Such strategic investments are designed to provide Nigerian consumers and businesses with a more reliable and seamless digital experience, reinforcing Airtel’s commitment to growth and innovation across its markets.

This achievement underscores Airtel’s dual focus on expanding reach while enhancing service quality, solidifying its position as a major player in the global telecommunications landscape.
