Nollywood star Adesua Etomi-Wellington has captured the hearts of fans with a touching tribute to her second son, Zekiah, as he marked his first birthday.

In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, the actress expressed profound gratitude to God for her son’s life, describing him as a reflection of divine faithfulness and an endless source of joy to their family.

“We can’t believe you’re already one, Zekiah. We’re all head over heels in love with you — our strong-willed baby, our sunshine, our little bundle of joy with a PhD in facial expressions,” she wrote. “You are living proof of God’s promises fulfilled. You’ve filled our home with laughter and light, showing that God still answers prayers — even though you sometimes steal our sleep.”

She went on to bless her son with powerful declarations: “Hezekiah Oluwadarasimi, just as your name means ‘Yahweh strengthens’ and ‘God is good to me,’ we declare that Yahweh will always strengthen you. You will shine wherever you go, and your life will be undeniable evidence that Jesus is alive and God is good. Happy birthday, Kai Kai. Have an amazing life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Adesua also shared glimpses of her motherhood journey, admitting that postpartum life had been both humbling and intense. “Postpartum hair shedding is brutal,” she confessed, reflecting on her earlier struggles after childbirth.

On Mother’s Day, the actress had opened up about the physical and emotional challenges she faced after giving birth — from an emergency C-section and sleepless nights to continuous bleeding and painful recovery. Despite the toll it took, she said she would “do it all again” for the sake of her children.

Earlier this year, Adesua also revealed that she had endured hyperemesis gravidarum — a severe pregnancy condition that causes extreme nausea and vomiting. She recounted how her husband, Banky W, along with her doctors and family, stood by her through the ordeal.

During her birthday celebration in February, the actress disclosed that 2024 was one of her toughest years yet, as she faced hospitalization, another emergency C-section, and her husband’s battle with a cancerous tumor.
