Music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has confirmed that he was the one behind the controversial social media post about his separation from his wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia.

In a recent video posted on his Instagram story, 2Baba refuted earlier claims that his account had been hacked, saying, “Nobody hacked my account, na me talk wetin I wan talk.” This came after a message appeared on his Instagram page, initially stating that his account had been compromised. The original post, which sparked widespread attention, read, “I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now, and currently filed for divorce.”

The post, which also mentioned his intention to release a press statement, concluded with a message of love for his fans: “I would grant a press release soon to say my story. Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”

Fans had questioned the authenticity of the post, leading 2Baba to clarify that it was indeed genuine. Despite the backlash, the legendary musician emphasized his desire to keep his supporters informed, distancing himself from earlier claims of hacking.
